Taylor has gone a perfect 3-0 against Crooms Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Taylor Wildcats take on Crooms Academy Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Taylor has three straight wins, Crooms Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Taylor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Warner Christian Academy 26-2 on Monday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Hayden Worden and Chase Heimbach were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Worden tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Heimbach tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). At bat, Worden scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Heimbach scored two runs while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Heimbach is becoming a predictor of Taylor's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Drew Moyer and Roberto Mancilla did most of the damage at the plate: Moyer scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Mancilla scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Mancilla has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Harcus, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
Taylor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Crooms Academy lost 11-1 to Trinity Prep two weeks ago.
Taylor's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Crooms Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Taylor has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Crooms Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Taylor's way against Crooms Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Taylor made off with a 12-2 win. Will Taylor repeat their success, or does Crooms Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
