King William put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past King & Queen Central, posting a 44-0 win on the road.
James Stewart was his usual excellent self, rushing for 109 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Stewart hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Trenton Stallings, who threw for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes.
Meanwhile, Bruton fell victim to New Kent's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They fell 10-0 to the Trojans. Bruton has struggled against New Kent recently, as their matchup on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
King William's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Bruton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. King William has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bruton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 160.3 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
