Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Wolsey-Wessington against Lemmon/McIntosh on Thursday as the team secured a 50-20 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warbirds.
Caleb Richmond was his usual excellent self, throwing for 210 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 62 yards. Moshe Richmond was in the mix as well, providing Wolsey-Wessington with two touchdowns.
Wolsey-Wessington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cooper Timm and Peyton Rainford. Timm also set a new season high mark in total tackles with nine. Another thorn in Lemmon/McIntosh's side was Colin Hughes, who picked up two sacks and made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Dupree has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Wolsey-Wessington, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
