The La Grange Leopards were the 54-46 winner over the Franklin Lions when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. La Grange ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-36 walloping at the hands of Franklin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, La Grange can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 721st, while Franklin is ranked 272nd).
La Grange's loss came despite strong showings from Landri Hernandez and Kylie Trlicek. Hernandez scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds, while Trlicek scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Trlicek scored a full 36.1% of La Grange's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
La Grange's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Franklin, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
La Grange will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Victoria West. As for Franklin, they will face off against Huntington at 10:40 a.m. on Friday. Huntington is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
