There's no place like home for the Jones Trojans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 64-56 victory over West Oso on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why West Oso lost, one person who can't be blamed is Devin Martinez. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Alex Soto, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, West Oso were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Jones has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for West Oso, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Calhoun the next time they take the court. West Oso will head out to face Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Jones will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
