After a string of four wins, Freedom's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Emmaus Hornets.
While Freedom had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 16-25, 25-21.
Landry Guman paced Freedom's offense, picking up 16 kills. Guman got some help from Sara Kokolus and her 34 assists. Guman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 12-5-1. As for Emmaus, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0-1.
Freedom has already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Pleasant Valley on the 20th. As for Emmaus, they will take on Allentown Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
