The York County Tech Spartans fell victim to the Bermudian Springs Eagles''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 35-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Jack Gautsch was the offensive standout of the game as he picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 54 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Tyson Carpenter made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
York County Tech's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-8 York Catholic and 2-8 Fairfield (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.9% over those games). As for Bermudian Springs, the win was the sixth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York County Tech will take on Hanover at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Hanover is ranked 521st, while York County Tech is ranked 539th). As for Bermudian Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Littlestown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Littlestown is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
