Escambia County lost to Jackson on the road by a decisive 63-45 margin on Friday. Escambia County has struggled against Jackson recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stephen Williams, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jovaughnta Henderson, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Duckworth, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Duckworth has scored all season. Keeyun Chapman was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Escambia County's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Jackson, their victory was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escambia County will face off against Baldwin County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to take on T.R. Miller at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. T.R. Miller will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Jackson is ranked 67th).
