Softball Recap: Timpview Takes a Loss

Timpview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-4 to the Orem Tigers. One positive for the Thunderbirds, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Timpview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Riley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Riley has posted since back in April of 2024. Nelly Gongora also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Even though they lost, Timpview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Timpview's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Orem, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timpview will square off against Spanish Fork at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orem, they will head out to face off against Timpanogos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpanogos will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Orem surely won't give up without a fight.
