The Carlisle County Comets will face off against the Massac County Patriots on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Carlisle County took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let South Fulton get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Comets have won five games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Koltyn Perez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lawsin Moore was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brennan O'Neill, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Massac County was able to grind out a solid win over Herrin on Tuesday, taking the game 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Like Carlisle County, Massac County also got a great game from a two-way player: Zach Maurer. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Maurer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Musselman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Brayden Jennings was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Massac County's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Carlisle County, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
