The biggest upset of the week belonged to Towanda, who took down 227th ranked Towanda, 21-20. Taylor Hillson threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 28 yards in the win.
Hillson and Sam Bohnert provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Knights. The connection went for 79 yards, the longest such play in Northern Tier - Large this season.
Bohnert was the best wideout in the league this week as North Penn beat Towanda. Bohnert tallied six receptions for 148 yards. Sam Rotella helped North Penn's passing attack out by catching six balls for 52 yards.
Hunter Pierce was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 132 yards on eight carries as Athens bested James Wecker's team. Tyler Forbes also contributed to the rushing game with 20 yards on the ground.
North Penn's Hillson and Bohnert have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Northern Tier - Large in both passing and receiving yards. Hillson has thrown for 610 yards this season, while Bohnert, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 14 catches for 308 yards. Troy's Jed Wright leads the league in rushing yards with 412.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Troy takes on second place Athens. The Trojans bested Wyalusing Valley Area last week, while the Wildcats topped Cowanesque Valley.
