After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Conifer, Montbello was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  9-8  win over the Overland Trailblazers.
 Jonathan Esparza was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   two  hits. Esparza was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  triple and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Devin Williams and  Juan Alderte did most of the damage at the plate:  Williams  scored two  runs and  stole  Three bases. while going 1-for-2, while  Alderte  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.  Derek Alvidrez was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing  Two bases. while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
Montbello's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Overland, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the  loss, which was their 15th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Coming up, Montbello will challenge Riverdale Ridge at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Overland, they will take on Kennedy at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday.
