Evansville hasn't had much luck against Jefferson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m.
On Thursday, Evansville came up short against Whitewater and fell 5-2.
Jessica Muench spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Evansville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Berkley Dwyer, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Jefferson won against Big Foot on Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Eagles blew past Edgerton 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Hailey Pratt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Warborg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.
Jefferson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Evansville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Evansville might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Jefferson in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Blue Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
