Washington made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,106 from 10,688. The improvement came about via a 63-40 victory over the Wildcats last week.
Sumner Academy's dynamic duo of Brandon Williams and Jowell Daniels proved tough for Piper to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Williams threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns and Daniels had 118 yards receiving. Deon Tripp helped Sumner Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 56 yards.
Jered Ross was the most productive running back in Kansas City-Atchison this week. He ran for 74 yards on 11 carries as Atchison lost to the Pirates. Teammate Austin Housh added to the ground attack by rushing for 64 yards.
Sumner Academy's Williams and Daniels have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 1340 yards this season, while Daniels, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 37 catches for 567 yards. Schlagle's J'veyon Browning leads the league in rushing yards with 790.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Redmen take on Todd Wassman's team. Atchison is currently in second, while the Sabres are in fifth.
Washington led Kansas City-Atchison in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on Washington.
