Rickards is 1-6 against Madison County since August of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rickards Raiders will stay at home for another week and welcome the Madison County Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Rickards' strategy against Arnold on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Rickards blew Arnold out of the water with a 66-3 final score. The win was just what Rickards needed coming off of a 43-13 loss in their prior game.
Benjamin Henry and Kemarrion Battles were among the main playmakers for Rickards as the former threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes and the latter rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Jaishaun Frazier did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Madison County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past Chiefland 44-2 on the road. The result was nothing new for Madison County, who have now won three contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
John Christian was a one-man wrecking crew for Madison County as he rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Christian was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Ryshard Miller was another key contributor, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Rickards' win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Madison County, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-1.
Rickards came up short against Madison County in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 28-21. Will Rickards have more luck at home instead of on the road?
