Softball Recap: Pearsall Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Pearsall barely beat Pleasanton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mavericks put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-4 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Mavericks brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Alayna Zapata was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jalyssa Vasquez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Pearsall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasanton only posted an OBP of .394.

Pearsall pushed their record up to 19-10-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Pleasanton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-14-1 record this season.

Pearsall has already played their next game, a 16-2 win against Hondo on the 21st. Pleasanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
