The Sonora Broncos's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Reagan County by a score of 36-28. The victory was just what Sonora needed coming off of a 66-15 loss in their prior game.
It was another big night for Jayla Williams, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Ravyn Aguero, who scored five points along with six steals.
Sonora's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-18. As for Reagan County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonora will take on Water Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Water Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Reagan County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Forsan at 6:30 p.m.
