Liberty is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Emerson is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Liberty Redhawks will welcome the Emerson Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Liberty will bounce into Monday's game after beating Memorial, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Liberty blew past Memorial 19-2 on Monday.

Addison Hanson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Delila Bond, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Ainslee Palmer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, everything went Emerson's way against Centennial on Monday as Emerson made off with a 14-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.
Like Liberty, Emerson also got a great game from a two-way player: Addison Hudnall. She struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Furthermore, Hudnall didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Ellie Thurman was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gianna Lipsky, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Emerson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive contests.
Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. Emerson's victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Liberty has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Emerson struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Liberty couldn't quite get it done against Emerson when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 10-6. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
