Baseball Recap: Newport Central Catholic Wins Going Away Against Bellevue

While Newport Central Catholic put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Bellevue. The Thoroughbreds put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 13-0 victory. With that win, the Thoroughbreds brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Ian Mann was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Hurtt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Mann wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Newport Central Catholic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Newport Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Bellevue, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Newport Central Catholic will take on Dixie Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellevue, they will challenge Bourbon County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
