After four games on the road, Seffner Christian is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Cambridge Christian Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Seffner Christian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cambridge Christian in Florida (Seffner Christian is ranked 108th, while Cambridge Christian is ranked 476th).
Seffner Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 31 points or more this season. They blew past Patel, posting a 80-45 win on the road. The victory was just what Seffner Christian needed coming off of a 75-50 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Cambridge Christian had to settle for a 52-49 loss against Academy at the Lakes on Monday.
Cambridge Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Caden Martinez, who scored 14 points, and Andrew Proffitt who scored 14 points. Martinez scored a full 28.6% of Cambridge Christian's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Karston Michael Ash, who scored eight points.
Seffner Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Cambridge Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Seffner Christian against Cambridge Christian when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 64-27 victory. Will Seffner Christian repeat their success, or does Cambridge Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
