Basketball Recap: Lometa Drops Highest Score of Season Against Johnson City

Lometa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Johnson City Eagles, falling 63-43. One positive for the Hornets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Johnson City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Odiorne led the charge by going 10 for 17 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Odiorne continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Jackson, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points, to go along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Lometa's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Johnson City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Lometa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-47 victory against Paint Rock on the 7th. As for Johnson City, they will face off against Lometa at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.
