The Trenton Tigers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They came out on top against Oak Hall by a score of 39-26. For Trenton, this counts as revenge for the 42-34 loss Oak Hall walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trenton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nyima Gillyard, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Gillyard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Karanja, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Trenton's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. As for Oak Hall, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Trenton will head out on the road to face off against Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lafayette focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday. As for Oak Hall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagle's View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Eagle's View: 25.1, Oak Hall: 24.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
