Lyons is still undefeated this season after their contest against Longmont on Monday, but Longmont came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Lions came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Trojans. The five-run effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Gretta Wynja spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lyons saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luci Santesteban, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Autumn Johnsey, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lyons kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Lyons' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Longmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyons will welcome Wellington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Longmont, they will be playing at home against Monarch at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
