The Bayshore Christian Eagles will head out to face off against the Bayside Academy Admirals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Bayshore Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Bayshore Christian barely beat Sweet Water the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Bulldogs 14-2 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Nate Crooms made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jack Malone and Blake Strickland did most of the damage at the plate: Malone scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Strickland scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Strickland is becoming a predictor of Bayshore Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). Jack Wheeler was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Bayshore Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Bayside Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Orange Beach.
Bayshore Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bayside Academy, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Bayshore Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Bayside Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, winning 6-2. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Admirals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
