The Mt. Pleasant Christian Lions can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They really took it to Grace Classical Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-34 victory on the road. Given Mt. Pleasant Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Grace Classical Christian Academy is ranked 384th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grace Classical Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Maddox Werkmeister, who scored 11 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Zachary Hollowell, who scored 13 points.
Mt. Pleasant Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Grace Classical Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant Christian will challenge Cornerstone Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Grace Classical Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
