If The Fannindel Falcons were riding high off their 49-0 takedown of the Founders Classical Academy Guardian back in September, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fannindel took a 53-36 bruising from Apple Springs on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Kazion Dugan and Ke'monte D cuba, Fannindel certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Dugan rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while D cuba gained 140 total yards and three touchdowns. Dugan is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played.
Fannindel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Apple Springs, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fannindel will square off against Trinidad at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinidad knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Fannindel likes a good challenge. As for Apple Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
