The Berthoud Spartans will be playing at home against the Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Berthoud suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Sterling by a score of 50-47. Berthoud has struggled against Sterling recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Isaac Erickson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Callies, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by Resurrection Christian 80-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valley has scored all season.
Berthoud's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Berthoud was able to grind out a solid win over Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 73-63. Will Berthoud repeat their success, or does Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
