They came out on top against Christ Chapel Academy by a score of 67-56 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Immanuel Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gus Jackson out in front who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Choat, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Christ Chapel Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of David Neaves, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Sean Michael Robinson who scored 15 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Robinson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Alie Bangura, who scored three points along with three blocks and two steals.
Immanuel Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Christ Chapel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Immanuel Christian will be playing at home against Virginia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Immanuel Christian is facing Virginia Academy at the right time seeing as Virginia Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Christ Chapel Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Seton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 415 points over their last six contests.
