Basketball Recap: Hampton Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Bryce Harris and Kobe America

After flying high against Gateway Christian last Monday, Hampton Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Hampton Christian Academy Warriors lost 70-50 to the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled against the Seahawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Kobe America and Bryce Harris certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. America went 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and five rebounds, while Harris went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and five boards. Harris is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joel Fullwood, who posted six points and three steals.

Hampton Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampton Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Broadwater Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hampton Christian Academy is facing Broadwater Academy at the right time seeing as Broadwater Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Portsmouth Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Atlantic Shores Christian is on a three-game streak of home wins, Portsmouth Christian a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
