If the Valley Center Jaguars were riding high off their 61-36 takedown of the West Hills Wolf Pack on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valley Center fell to Christian 54-48. Valley Center lost against Christian in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-46 score last time.
Valley Center's lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lincoln Zetmeir, who scored 15 points. Zetmeir scored a full 31.3% of Valley Center's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Garcia, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Valley Center's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Valley Center will face off against Granite Hills at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Granite Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 262 points over their last four games. As for Christian, they will take on Mount Miguel at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mount Miguel presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Christian in California (Mount Miguel is ranked 177th, while Christian is ranked 800th).
