Plainview has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Madill Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Plainview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Last Friday, Plainview didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Pirates, but they still walked away with a 42-36 victory.
Plainview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emilee Hedger, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Hedger is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marya Southerland, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Madill took a serious blow against the Braves on Saturday, falling 71-37. While losing is never fun, Madill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Braves are ranked tenth).
Plainview's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Madill, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
Plainview skirted past the Wildcats 32-30 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Plainview repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
