The Pathways Eagles's and the Victory Charter School Knights's matchup on Tuesday was close at halftime, but the Pathways Eagles turned on the heat in the second half with 30 points. Pathways blew past Victory Charter School 53-32. Winning may never get old, but Pathways sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Pathways' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Steven Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Edwards hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Branden Southall, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Pathways is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Victory Charter School, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Pathways will take on Martin County in a holiday battle at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at. Martin County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Pathways is ranked 152nd). Victory Charter School will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cocoa at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
