Buena Vista is on a 14-game streak of home wins, while Iraan is on a nine-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Buena Vista Longhorns will take on the Iraan Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Buena Vista gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Comstock 50-26. Buena Vista pushed the score to 42-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Comstock had little chance of recovering from.
Buena Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Porras, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Porras has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Jaden Jurado was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Iraan beat Comstock 51-47 on Friday.
Buena Vista is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Iraan, their victory bumped their record up to 24-5.
Buena Vista strolled past Iraan when the teams last played back in January by a score of 54-35. Will Buena Vista repeat their success, or does Iraan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
