If Thornton Fractional North was riding high fresh off their 69-30 takedown of Evergreen Park last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thornton Fractional North Meteors took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phillips Wildcats. The Meteors' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Phillips to victory, but perhaps none more so than Akyla Williams, who posted 13 points. Nila Willis was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Thornton Fractional North's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Phillips, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Thornton Fractional North and Phillips should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings.
