Brawley fell just short of Calipatria by a score of 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Brawley has suffered since November 14, 2023.
Despite the loss, Brawley still got an impressive performance from Domanic Vallejo, who scored 23 points along with seven steals. Vallejo hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Desmond Thomas, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Brawley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Calipatria, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Brawley will be playing at home against Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest EC is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Calipatria, they will head out on the road to face off against Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holtville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1160th, while Calipatria is ranked 468th).
