Softball Recap: Conway Has No Trouble Against Waccamaw

Conway won the last time they faced Waccamaw and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers blew past the Warriors 13-2. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brandy Smith, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Rabon, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Conway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Conway is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Waccamaw, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

Conway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waccamaw, they will head out to challenge Georgetown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
