The Tate Aggies will face off against the Navarre Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tate is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
On Thursday, it was close, but Tate sidestepped Gulf Breeze for a 4-3 win. That's two games straight that the Aggies have won by just one run.
Peyton Womack was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Womack was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season.
Womack wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mykamia Padgett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Navarre never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Choctawhatchee. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Tate, Navarre also got a great game from a two-way player: Karsyn Riddle. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Riddle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Navarre let Adison Mobley and Natalia Taylor run wild. Mobley went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Taylor scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Mobley has posted since back in March of 2024. Peyton Daniel was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Navarre kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Choctawhatchee only managed three hits.
Tate's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Navarre, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Tate hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Navarre struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Tate couldn't quite get it done against Navarre in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 16-11. Will the Aggies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
