Having just played yesterday, the Portsmouth Christian Patriots will get right back to it and host TEACH at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Thursday, Portsmouth Christian suffered a rough 58-35 loss at the hands of Richmond Christian. Portsmouth Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.
Despite their loss, Portsmouth Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cloee Comberiati, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Comberiati has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Delani Nash, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, sadly, TEACH is still looking for their first win of the season after eight contests. They took a 34-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of StoneBridge back in January.
Portsmouth Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for TEACH, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Portsmouth Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over TEACH in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 34-22. Does Portsmouth Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will TEACH turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
