Softball Recap: Auburn Wins Going Away Against Giles

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Auburn and Giles had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Spartans on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaylee Ramrattan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnnie Gaynor, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Auburn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Giles only posted an OBP of .118.

Auburn's record is now 10-3. As for Giles, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Auburn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-10 defeat against Grayson County on the 28th. As for Giles, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Galax on the 29th.
