Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet dropped their record down to 12-9-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Lawson Lightning, falling 10-0. The Royals were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Lightning's pitchers proved too tough.

As for Lawson, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Considering they have won 17 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Lawson's part, they let Hut Hargrove and C.J. Thornton run wild. Hargrove went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Thornton went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Thornton has posted since back in March. Cal Hopkins was another key player, earning two runs and three stolen bases.

While Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
