After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rensselaer Central, the DeMotte Christian Knights were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 37-24 victory over Calumet Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as DeMotte Christian also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Claire Bakker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Coralee Dyke was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Despite the loss, Calumet Christian still got an impressive performance from Anna Prim, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Prim has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Makenna Landkrohn, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Calumet Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as DeMotte Christian only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
The victory got DeMotte Christian back to even at 11-11. As for Calumet Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-11.
DeMotte Christian will head out on the road to face off against North White at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Calumet Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Portage Christian at 5:15 p.m. on February 12th.
