Basketball Recap: Jaxon Coduti and Caiden Broughton Secure Win for Notre Dame

Notre Dame won against Rim of the World last Friday with 65 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Notre Dame Titans managed a 65-61 victory over the Valley View Eagles. With that win, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.

Notre Dame was led to victory by Caiden Broughton and Jaxon Coduti. Broughton dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Coduti dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Coduti is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Aaron Lewis was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

Notre Dame was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February.

Valley View's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah McDaniel, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points along with six boards and three steals, and Kenneth Hutchinson, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassius Wrisley, who posted 11 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Notre Dame and bumps their season record up to 4-7. As for Valley View, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Notre Dame and Chadwick will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Chadwick will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Notre Dame surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valley View, they and Tahquitz will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Valley View is facing Tahquitz at the right time seeing as Tahquitz is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
