The Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Highland Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cuyahoga Falls lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Springfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Black Tigers blew past the Spartans 15-4 on Friday. The Black Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Braylon Davis was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Cuyahoga Falls: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Kolvey, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Cuyahoga Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Highland came out on top against Roosevelt on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Hornets walked away with a 6-3 win over the Rough Riders. Surprisingly, this marked the Hornets' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Luke McCool looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Casey Myser, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Kyle Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Highland's record is now 15-3. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.
Cuyahoga Falls beat Highland 7-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Black Tigers repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
