After a string of 11 wins, the McClymonds Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakland. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McClymonds in their matchups with Oakland: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why McClymonds lost, one person who can't be blamed is Devon Mack. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points.
Oakland found their leader in underclassman Rohm Neal, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Neal has scored all season. Isaac Johnson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
McClymonds' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2. As for Oakland, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McClymonds will take on Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oakland, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Skyline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 629th, while Oakland is ranked 146th).
