The NSU University Sharks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season. They took their match on the road on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 81-43 win over Bridge to Independence. Given NSU University's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Bridge to Independence is ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
NSU University can attribute much of their success to Evans Barning, who scored 18 points. The matchup was Barning's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Ferrer, who scored ten points.
Despite the defeat, Bridge to Independence saw an underclassman step up: Jaydan Jeantinord dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Jeantinord set a new season high mark in blocks with three. Nate Osoria was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
NSU University's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Bridge to Independence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
