DePaul College Prep hasn't had much luck against St. Laurence recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rams will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. DePaul College Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, DePaul College Prep turned things around against St. Rita on Saturday. They walked away with a 14-9 victory over the Mustangs.

DePaul College Prep got a great performance from Dylan Hecht as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, Hecht posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three matchups.
At the plate, Vance Kurokawa was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Beni Espinosa, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
DePaul College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, St. Laurence came tearing into Saturday's contest with 19 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Caravan a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
St. Laurence's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for DePaul College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 21-8.
DePaul College Prep suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to St. Laurence in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
