The Challenger Firebirds had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Haywood Christian Academy 45-42. The victory was just what Challenger needed coming off of a 68-37 defeat in their prior game.
Leading Challenger to victory were Braelon Roe and Riley Annis. Roe scored four points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Annis scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Roe also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Kendall Reinhardt was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Challenger's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Haywood Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Challenger does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Haywood Christian Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
