Potlatch is a perfect 10-0 against Lapwai since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Loggers will welcome the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Potlatch will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Potlatch is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Kendrick, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Potlatch was ranked 14th). The Loggers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Tigers on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Loggers have posted against the Tigers since April 30, 2024.
Trey Magallon made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jay Marshall, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Mitchell, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lapwai came up short against Prairie on Monday, falling 17-2.
Lapwai saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Brown, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Potlatch's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Lapwai, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Potlatch has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lapwai struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Potlatch's way against Lapwai in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Potlatch made off with a 15-5 win. Do the Loggers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
