The Maranatha Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Guajome Park Academy Frogs at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Maranatha Christian's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over St. Joseph Academy. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

Hannah Visser was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Arango, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Aviana Werner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Maranatha Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Guajome Park Academy made easy work of Victory Christian Academy on Thursday and carried off a 20-4 win. The contest marked the Frogs' most dominant victory of the season.
Chloe Lane was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with nine RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Natalie Malone was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Guajome Park Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Maranatha Christian, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Guajome Park Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Maranatha Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Guajome Park Academy, though, as they've been averaging 10 hits. Given Maranatha Christian's sizable advantage in that area, the Frogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Maranatha Christian took their win against Guajome Park Academy in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 24-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
