The Scott Eagles were the 62-53 winner over the North Oldham Mustangs when they last played one another back in December of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. Scott was dealt a 88-54 defeat at the hands of North Oldham on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Scott can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while North Oldham is ranked fifth).
Despite the loss, Scott still got an impressive performance from Xarek Sarakatsannis, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Sarakatsannis' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Connor Griffin, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Scott and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for North Oldham, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Augusta on Friday. Augusta has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 677 points over their last nine matchups. North Oldham will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Walton-Verona on Friday. Walton-Verona will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
